I am looking for glass cutters (scorers) for use on thick or stained glass. Some recommend carbide wheels like some models (which?) of Fletcher. Some recommend Toyo, such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/Toyo-Wheel-Thick-Glass-Cutter/dp/B001C7XE8A/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hi_13 Does anyone have experience in cutting 1/2 inch glass using hand tools? |

For free hand cutting, you might look at the C.R. LAURENCE 547DGC a solid diamond tip cutter, but it is designed for thinner glass. I did not think you would be able to find a tool to meet your 1/2" specification but CR Laurence does list a thick glass cutter, claiming it will cut glass up to 19 mm thick. I have never used it and it is a wheel cutter. Good luck. http://www.amazon.com/Thick-Glass-Cutter-CR-Laurence/dp/B006JFJM3Q/ref=?ie=UTF8&m=A2VNERJJQ7ERIT link |
