It is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B00HS5M706\/cooltools-20\">rechargeable by shaking it<\/a>. Shaking it sends a magnet through a coil and that charges it. It was given to me about 10 years ago and is still going strong. I leave it on my desk and give it a 30 second shake while waiting for a boot-up or the like and it stays at full brightness. If I forget to charge it for a month or two I shake for 30 seconds it comes back to life, and if I shake for a minute then it is back to full brightness. <\/p>\n<p>Because it is clear plastic it is a good example of how electricity is made.
