Sethi advocates selective thrift in order to permit passion spending in one area, the value of access over ownership, and other heresies. \nGoogle\u2019s algorithm is not working as well as it once did for product recommendations. It could be that spammy websites have gotten better at gaming the algorithm, pushing their search results to the top. My friend\u00a0Rob Beschizza<\/a>\u00a0shared a wonderful tip. He tweeted, \u201ca search for \u2018best cordless hedge trimmer\u2019 gets 400 identical top lists of amazon referral links with smarmy PR copy. But \u201c\u2018best cordless hedge trimmer reddit\u2019 gets the best cordless hedge trimmer.\u201d Try it, it works for any product! \u2014 MF<\/p>\n

Transformational talks<\/strong>
\nMost of my audible credits tend to be\u00a0spent on audio\u00a0from the Sounds True library.\u00a0I\u2019ve listened to all the\u00a0Bren\u00e9 Brown<\/a>\u00a0training talks they offer (like condensed versions of her books) and working my way through the\u00a0Clarissa Pinkola Est\u00e9s<\/a>\u00a0collection of healing stories and myths. But right now what I\u2019m really enjoying is the very trippy 14-hour-long\u00a0Out of Your Mind: Essential Listening from\u00a0the Alan Watts Audio Archives<\/a>. It makes my commute mind-expanding. \u2014 CD<\/p>\n

\nI got a\u00a0Breville Barista Express<\/a>\u00a0six months ago and now coffee shop cappuccinos will never be as good as homemade. I wanted to be able to take my cappuccino to go on mornings I drive to work, but my travel mug is too big and mixes my drink when I pour it in. Great near-future science fiction<\/strong>
\nI just finished reading\u00a0Fall; or, Dodge in Hell<\/a>, Neal Stephenson\u2019s new sci-fi novel. The first half of this 850-page book is set in the near future and is among Stephenson\u2019s best work. It\u2019s got cryonics, uploading the dead into Bitworld, grand media hoaxes and anti-hoaxes and counter-anti-hoaxes. The second half is a different story-within-the-story where he re-images the Biblical creation story of Adam and Eve, and Greek demigods; although a great performance, it was less satisfying.
