Basically, it\u2019s for noise reduction. But being a\u00a0<em>CNC Kitchen<\/em>\u00a0video, he goes into great detail about what actually causes the sounds that can make your printer annoying to be around and ways of mitigating the racket. At some point, I lost it. So, I was tickled to see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/jfg_EUCFMvU?utm_campaign=Gareth%27s%20Tips%2C%20Tools%2C%20and%20Shop%20Tales&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">this Cool Tools video<\/a>, with\u00a0<strong>Donald Bell\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jordan Bunker<\/strong>, where Jordan shows off a similar (though much larger) precision pocket oiler. Such a book is also a great place to keep any measurements, weights, temperatures, formulas, and other notes that you might use on a regular basis. I keep those in the back. For my books, I use blank-page\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/8883704916\/tipstoolshoptales-20\" target=\"_blank\">Moleskine Cahiers notebooks<\/a>. Another great tip from Acme Tools.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Shop Talk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to my tip a few weeks back on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.getrevue.co\/profile\/garethbranwyn\/issues\/gareth-s-tips-tools-and-shop-tales-issue-41-235896?utm_campaign=Gareth%27s%20Tips%2C%20Tools%2C%20and%20Shop%20Tales&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">organizing your browser tabs<\/a>, reader\u00a0<strong>Bill Schuller<\/strong>\u00a0writes:<\/p>\n<p><em>I also keep a very large heard of browser tabs. It also allows you to \u201cpause\u201d tabs, which removes them from working memory for those occasional moments when you\u2019ve really gone overboard with the number of open tabs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>While we\u2019re talking about Chrome extensions, I can\u2019t live without\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/igrigorik\/videospeed?utm_campaign=Gareth%27s%20Tips%2C%20Tools%2C%20and%20Shop%20Tales&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Video Speed Controller<\/em><\/a><em>. A few years ago, I was getting a demo of some of the awesome technology that\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/aira.io\/?utm_campaign=Gareth%27s%20Tips%2C%20Tools%2C%20and%20Shop%20Tales&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Revue%20newsletter\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Aira<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0creates to help folks with a visual impairment\u00a0navigate the world. During the demo, I learned that it\u2019s not uncommon for folks to learn to listen to audio at 8x speeds. Since then, I\u2019ve been slowly adapting to\u00a0absorbing information more quickly. It works with any HTML5 video including YouTube and the like.
