My wife and I have landed in Almaty after very long flights to Kazakhstan. We both packed carry-ons for a trip of more than three months of traveling in Asia. That can be a challenge, but she\u2019s still got her sleep aid white noise machine covered with this tiny Babelio White Noise one<\/a> with 15 sounds that she bought a few months ago at Amazon. It\u2019s about the volume of a golf ball, but cylindrical, and the sound quality and volume are on par with much bigger ones we have tried. It includes a handy travel case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Random Airline News<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lots of odd airline news this past month, so I\u2019m tossing them all in here. I didn\u2019t see this one coming: budget carrier Allegiant (that recently purchased Sun Country) is installing first class seats<\/a>. United got sued for selling window seats with no windows and the federal judge denied United\u2019s attempts to drop it<\/a>. American Airlines made its elite status worth even less than it already was, saying \u201cforget about those upgrades we promised<\/a>.\u201d Also, the London stock exchange is losing another ticker symbol as easyJet got bought by a U.S. private equity firm<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If (and only if) you\u2019re a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>, there\u2019s a new show on HBO you can stream in bursts when you need a good laugh. Called Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness<\/em>, each episode is a series of sketch comedy vignettes that put a different spin on everything from the Boston Tea Party to the Shootout at the OK Corral to stranded Donner Party cannibalism.
