I found these UV decals that go on the exterior of your window to be the easiest and most successful of any solution.

Birds read the reflection of nature in your windows as real and think they are traveling towards trees or sky–whatever is reflected. The WindowAlert decals are nearly invisible (so you don’t have to look at decals) but the birds see UV light reflected back at them from the decal. Before applying the decals I washed the window and used rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.

It also helps if you place feeders and bird baths either very close to the window or away at an angle.

–Terry Powell

For a number of months, my large glass windows were a killing field for birds. Three or four a day were ending their lives smashing into glass they could not see. I tried a number of things–gel stickers, vinyl stickers, etc. But the best thing I’ve found are these Window Alert decals. These static-cling decals reflect UV rays, invisible to people, but startling and bright for birds. I haven’t had a bird hit a window that has these decals on it.
