That’s not a question.

But a fun and interesting way to start learning a language is a video game called Influent.  As you walk around a typical apartment environment, you can interact with objects while the game displays the name and pronounces it.  You can also make a list of words you want to concentrate on, create flashcards and quiz yourself.  The game is $9.99 from Steam and comes with one language.  Additional language packs are $4.99 each.  There are currently 16 supported languages, European & Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, French, Korean, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Bulgarian, German, Spanish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Latin and English.

Cool tools really work.

A cool tool can be any book, gadget, software, video, map, hardware, material, or website that is tried and true. All reviews on this site are written by readers who have actually used the tool and others like it. Items can be either old or new as long as they are wonderful. We post things we like and ignore the rest. Suggestions for tools much better than what is recommended here are always wanted.

Tell us what you love.
