I gave my men Leatherman Waves, with 50' of 300# test paracord wrapped on a carabiner. One of the men was a gas company supervisor, another is a SWAT team member for a very busy police dept, another was a state marshal, and the final man is a QA tester for NYSE. I think my SWAT guy used it the most. You can engrave them, of course. The carabiner and paracord were my adds, I figured they'd make it harder to lose, easier to add to a utility belt. <shrug> You may not get it completely right -- my man working for the gas company had access to them as a company bennie -- but my thinking was the tool represented a lot of solid function by a company known for quality. Exactly what I thought of my guys.

I recently bought a folding knife that is a beauty and costs about $100 if you look for it - a little high, but very nice. It's a Fallkniven P3GY Folder With Yellow Bone Handles. Worth it, and would be well received.

The standard Buck 110 Hunter is a good gift with a solid wood handle and very large brass caps that are large enough for engraving. Best of all, they run about $30 a pop, and are a good, proven, classic tool. My best man gave them as groomsmen gifts when he got married, and he had each of our initials engraved; I think the letters were at least 1/4" tall, there really is a lot of room there.

When I got married I gave my groomsmen these really nice insulated bags and had their initials embroidered on the front. They have a leather bottom and leather accents, and I think they ran around $40 with the embroidery.

I wish I had come up with the Buck knife first though, I think it was a cooler gift than my coolers.

At the different weddings I've participated in as a groomsman I've received a watch, a leatherman+sheath knife, an engraved flask (on two occasions), and a german beer stein. All of which I still have but none of which I make much use of. I think they're in a box somewhere in the barn. I think you should cruise through the cool-tools archive and find a separate gift for each guy in your price range. They can't all be needing the same thing, and you can (hopefully) guess at something that suits each of them

Those travel leather valets/catch alls were a hit with my groomsmen. Everyone needs a place to throw their keys, wallet, phone, change, etc, when they travel. The Pottery Barn model was the best design I could find and it can be laser monogrammed as well.

Hip Flasks already filled, you can engrave them if you wish as well.
