Battery-powered dimmable lantern
I bought one of these for my vacation cabin, in case of power outages. I liked it so much I bought two more for at home. There are two things that I like about it, first the rheostat switch. It can be reading-light bright or night-light dim. The second thing is its elegant good looks. It can sit out in the living room until you need it. Although it’s entirely plastic, it feels solid and well made. The three D batteries it runs on give it a nice hefty solidity, and the handle feels sturdy. Definitely a great power-outage light! Or pretty on a picnic table at night.
