Visualizing Negative Outcomes
“Once you have figured out what the worst thing is that can happen—envision that it will happen… Visualizing something bad to happen is counterintuitive but it will make us accept our fate. Once we accept it we can improve it.”
Make a “Things I Worry About” List
Use a note-taking app and create a new note. I call my note “Things that I worry about.” List everything you worry about — and keep adding things to the list. Everything that you worry about goes on this list, no matter how small. Think of a solution to all your perceived problems. For example, if your financial situation makes you anxious, you need to create a plan to earn more or spend less. Then, start executing. Do one thing every day that brings you closer to solving your perceived problem. Finally, don’t worry about things you have zero control over — those things you have to accept. If you want to know more about how you can do this; read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
Stop Wasting Time
“Recognize and eliminate non-essential activities in your life. This includes saying no to tasks that don’t align with your goals and minimizing distractions that sap your focus and energy.”
There are no Wrong Decisions
“Learn to view every decision as an opportunity for growth, regardless of the outcome. Embrace the uncertainty and use it as a stepping stone to learn and evolve.”01/23/24
