Profound comedy
I’ve been laughing in awe while watching the new sitcom series, The Good Place. It’s funny, unconventional, unpredictable, original, and deeply philosophical. What’s the point of being good? Wouldn’t heaven be boring? What’s the best answer to the “trolley problem”? Yes, existential humor! It runs on NBC, but the first season is on Netflix. — KK

Get your clickbait fix
I’m still in search for a good chrome extension that summarizes news articles, but in the meantime the subreddit Saved You a Click spoils a lot of the clickbait posts floating around. None of it is real news, but it does satisfy my curiosity and save me a lot of time I would waste clicking through those stupid slideshows. — CD

Best flushable wipes
I’ve installed inexpensive bidets in the toilets at my house, and I’m sorry I can’t bring them with me when I travel. But I have recently started carrying a DUDE Wipe packet in my pocket. The packet resembles a condom packet, but it contains a flushable single wipe. It’s unscented and is treated with vitamin E and aloe. — MF

Cheap and fast glasses
If you happen to live in the Bay Area or in Southern California, I highly recommend getting your next pair of prescription glasses from JINS. At first I was overwhelmed by their huge selection, but lucky for me my best friend was there to help me pick out frames — and that was the most difficult part! Then I just showed them my prescription, checked out and came back in 30 minutes to pick them up. I was out the door with a new pair for just $80 including lenses. Faster than Warby Parker and way cheaper than LensCrafters. — CD

One-finger zoom
Here’s a tip for zooming on smartphone maps. Instead of pinching to zoom, tap the screen twice, but leave your finger on the screen on the second tap. Then slide your finger up or down to zoom in or out. — MF

White pen
A good pen that writes reliably in opaque white is hard to find. Black or dark paper will kill an inferior white pen. Ways of failure are legion: skipping, too thin, too transparent, wavering, plugging up, etc. The best white pen is the Signo White Gel from Uni-ball. It puts down a serious, dense, even, opaque line of white immediately consistently each time. — KK
